Recommended Replacement Trailer Battery for Powering Ultra-Fab Electric Tongue Jack UF38-944017

Question:
Need to replace a battery for my UltraFAB 3500 electric trailer jack. Is there a minimum, or recommended battery for this unit. Previous owner had a Marine battery M24-1 with CCA 500. Wondering if it needs to be a Marine battery, and if it needs to be 500 CCA.

To power an electric trailer jack (or a winch for that matter) generally the higher the amperage rating of the battery the better. Jacks, like winches, use more power to operate as the load increases.
The Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944017 can be powered by any full-size 12V battery (but not a smaller one such as that on a lawn mower).
My contact at Ultra-Fab recommended you ask for a Series 31 type battery at your local store. These are a hybrid type that are not rated in CCAs (cold cranking amps) the way that starter batteries are but they will be well-suited to operating the jack.
