Recommended Ball Mount with Drop for 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver

Question:
I need a hitch adapter. I have a 2inch trailer hitch on my truck. I have a 2.5inch ball hitch with a drop. Do you have something that can reduce the 2.5inch hitch into a 2inch trailer hitch?

Expert Reply:
We do not currently have any hitch adapters available that will expand the 2 inch receiver on your truck to a 2-1/2 inch receiver for use with your existing ball mount.
Your best option might be to simply replace your ball mount with one that is compatible with 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of ball mounts, as well as an article that explains how to choose the best one for towing your trailer level. I recommend looking at an adjustable ball mount like the Curt # C45900. This ball mount can provide you with up to a 6 inch drop or up to a 5 inch rise. It also includes a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. It is compatible with 2 inch trailer hitch receivers.
I have attached a video demonstration on this ball mount that you can also take a look at.
