Question:

I want to carry a Sunfish sailboat mast spars and sail on my factory racks. The Multimounts have clamps that fit round or square bars but not the elliptical ones on my Outback. Do I have to use #Y03590 Mighty mounts to adapt the multi mounts? If so, how do those connect, and will the long bolts I see on the mighty mounts come into contact with my roof?

The Universal MightyMounts for Yakima Roof Mounted Accessories # Y03590 will work as long as your factory crossbars are 4 inches wide or less and under 1-1/2 inches tall. To secure the mounts with locks, you will want the Yakima Accessory Lock Housing - Same Key System (SKS) Compatible # Y07220 and cores # Y07204. The height shouldn't be an issue, but you will want to ensure you have at least 1-1/2 inches of clearance between your bars and roof to confirm.
