If your electric trailer tongue jack is not working when activating the switch, I first recommend checking the power source. If you have the jack connected to a battery mounted on the trailer, it's possible that the battery is simply not providing enough juice for the motor to kick in. I recommend testing the battery to make sure it is fully charged. You can charge the battery with the excellent CTEK # CTEK56353 if needed.
If the battery checks out okay, I next recommend looking at the ground connection. If your trailer jack does not have a primary ground wire to look at, then it likely grounds through where it is mounted on the trailer. Regardless of how the jack is grounded, you will need to make sure that the area is free of any debris or corrosion, simply cleaning out as needed.
Lastly, if the jack has been over extended this can burn out the motor (if the fuse or circuit breaker doesn't blow/trip first). If this is the case, you will likely need to replace the jack.
