What does the blue wire do in the Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller? What is it for?

Expert Reply:
The blue wire on the Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller, like the P3 # 90195, is the wire that sends the braking signal to the 7-Way pin on your tow vehicle (see attached diagram). Without this wire connected the brakes on your trailer will never be activated.
The Red wire on the controller will need to be routed to the COLD side of the Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed), the Black wire will be routed to your Battery (don't forget to install the 20A Circuit Breaker # PK54520), and the White wire will be Ground.
If you don't already have wiring run for the brake controller you can use 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 and run it to the pin in the 5 O'clock position on your vehicle side 7-Way (see attached picture).
If you do not have a 7-Way connector on your vehicle just let me know your year/make/model and what kind of connector you have at the rear of your tow vehicle and I can make some recommendations.
