Can I use a strap instead of a steel cable with this winch?

Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch, TUFFPLATE Finish, Two Speed with Direct Drive - Hand Brake - 3,500 lbs. Item # DL14881 is designed for use with a wire rope only and not a cable but we do have winches that can be used with a cable or that already come with a cable.
The similarly rated Fulton XLT # F142425 comes with a strap. It is rated for 3,200 pounds but is not a brake winch. The highest rated brake winch that can be used with a strap is Dutton-Lainson Brake Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish, Self-Locking - 2,500 lbs. Item # DL15721. For a strap you can use # DL24251.
