Curt Trailer Wiring Harness Causes ABS Problems when Installed on a 2013 Scion FR-S

I purchased this product a few months ago for my 2013 Scion FRS to go with the trailer hitch I ordered. The hitch works great, but this wiring harness is causing issues with my ABS system and the rear brakes do not fully release when this system is connected to my car. Is there any way to fix this? Do i have a faulty unit? Is there any way to replace it if its not working like it should? Thanks for your help!

When you are having the problems on your 2013 Scion FR-S do you have anything plugged into the Curt wiring harness # C56212? If nothing is plugged into the 4-Way then it should not be drawing any power from the vehicle tail light connections. The only thing I can think of is if there is a short it could be overdrawing the tail light connections causing the problems you are having. That would indicate a problem inside the converter.
To test the harness, use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 or meter if you have one. First test the wires going into the converter from the vehicle while someone sits in the vehicle and goes through the lighting functions. If the test shows something does not have power when it should (or does have power when it should not) then it could be a bent or broken pin where the harness plugs in line with the vehicle wiring.
If everything on the input side checks out perform the same test on the output (4-Way) side. If the everything is right going into the box but not coming out then it is a bad converter and the whole harness will need to be replaced.
The harness I recommend is Tekonsha wiring harness # 118629 because we hear about less issues with this brand.
