The Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR uses an in-coach RF controller that plugs into a 12V outlet in the cab of the motorhome. This accelerometer or deceleration sensor in the RF controller senses the braking action of the motorhome and sends a signal to the brake system in the towed vehicle. Since it is a proportional system, it will apply the brakes in the same proportion to the braking action of the motorhome.
This also allows you a manual braking option and will allow you to adjust the gain or strength of the braking you desire. It's screen with give you diagnostics so you can monitor the braking functions. This is a great system that is easily transferable between vehicles and can be easily stored when not in use. It has a backup battery for function in the instance that 12V power supply is lost.
I've attached a video for further assistance. This system will require the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 for use with your vehicle.
