Expert Reply:
The available trailer hitches for the 2003 Subaru Forester will only fit on the 1998-2008 Subaru Forester. This hitch will not be compatible with any other model or year vehicle.
For your 2008 Kia Sportage, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75561. This hitch is confirmed to fit and custom-designed for this vehicle. No drilling will be required during installation, as it will use existing holes in the vehicle frame for attachment. This Class III hitch will provide a 2 inch receiver opening and a towing weight capacity of 3,500 pounds.
I have attached an installation video on the 2010 Sportage along with the written instructions for you to check out.
