The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11390 you asked this question from is a confirmed fit for your 2012 Ford Fusion. It absolutely is possible to spread an installation out over two days, but you will want to be careful of a couple of things.
Once you have the bolts installed into the frame, you will want to make sure that they can't vibrate loose from their location. This may mean using additional washers to ensure the flange lock nut doesn't have the ability to move into the frame, allow the bolt or hardware to come out, or allow the nut to come loose from the bolt. You will want the hardware to be tight but not torqued fully. This hardware is designed to only be torqued to specs one time before it should be replaced.
