For your 2010 Smart For Two, we have the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, part # 52285-1, and the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, part # BX1987. Both the Roadmaster and Blue Ox base plate kits feature removable drawbars, so that the base plate kit is less visible when you are not towing the vehicle. Both the Roadmaster and Blue Ox base plate kit would be a good option for your 2010 Smart Car.
In addition to a base plate kit, you will need a tow bar, safety cables, wiring or lighting, and a supplemental braking system to complete your towing flat-towing setup.
For a Roadmaster tow bar, I would recommend the Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, part # RM-522, which is non-binding tow bar. A non-binding tow bar makes for easier hook up and disconnecting of your vehicle. For a Blue Ox tow bar, I would recommend the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar, part # BX7380. I would recommend using the same brand base plate kit tow bar to make sure that there are no issues with compatibility. Also, the same brand base plate kit will work best with same brand tow bar.
If you wont be flat-towing your vehicle often, a more simple tow bar may be a better option for you, like the Blue Ox Adventurer Tow Bar, part # BX7322. The Blue Ox Adventurer is adjustable, but does not have the non-binding feature.
For safety cables, you will need the Roadmaster 64 Inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, part # RM-643. Safety cables will keep your Smart Car attached to your motor home if your tow bar were to disconnect from the hitch ball.
For lighting solution, you could use the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # RM-2120. If you are going to be towing your Smart Car often, I would recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, part # RM-154 as it would just plug into your vehicle each time you tow.
Most states require that you use a supplemental brake system when flat-towing a vehicle. I would recommend Roadmaster Portable Braking System, part # RM-9400, which will help reduce wear your motor home brakes and help you slow down.
Before towing your Smart Car, you will want to contact your dealership for specific steps needed to take when flat-towing. Some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, axle disconnect or free-wheeling hubs before being towed.
I have linked and FAQ on flat-towing and instructions and a video review of the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar.
