Question:

My ex-wife bought your Tule Hullavator Pro. It looks like she will have to toss the Ford Cross Bars. I dont believe it is going to work and she was told it would, it doesnt pencil out on paper and other Fourms I have read. I think she was sold incorrectly a expensive unit that wont work for what she wants.

To use the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier # TH898 on your 2015 Ford Escape, you will need to remove the factory crossbars on the vehicle and install an aftermarket roof rack like the Thule Square Bar Rack. This system consists of # TH712200 for the 47 inch Crossbars s and # TH710401 for the Evo Raised Rail Feet. This will work with the factory side rails on the roof of your Escape.

I checked with Thule and the strength and crossbar length for the factory rack on your vehicle is not sufficient to support the Hullavator Carrier. The new Thule crossbars will provide the required crossbar overhang that is needed for the system to operate properly along with the needed capacity.
