Question:
Does the 2008 have a transmission cooler if it has the tow/haul button? Planing on a 3500 mile trip. What do you recommend for a electronic breaking system? Thanks

A vehicle equipped with a tow/haul button does not necessarily have a factory transmission cooler. The tow/haul button is used to change the shift points of your transmission for optional performance while towing. Almost all vehicles nowadays have an auxiliary transmission cooler of some sort, however, that's not to say that they are designed for towing or will withstand the transmission temperatures associated with this. Therefore, I recommend installing an aftermarket transmission cooler regardless if you already possess a factory cooler or not.
For a transmission cooler that will work well with your 2008 Dodge Nitro, I recommend using the Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D12902 as this is one of the largest coolers we have designed to fit in front of your radiator behind your front bumper cover. The kit also comes with everything needed for installation. I have attached both installation and review videos of the cooler for you.
The best brake controller we offer is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 as it has integrated safeguards to protect your vehicle, trailer and the controller. The 5 storable settings lets you customize the controller for multiple trailers, varying loads or different drivers. You will want the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7 in addition to the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118554 if you do not already have a 4-way. I have also attached an installation video of this harness installed on a 2010 Dodge Nitro for you.
