Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2006 Toyota Matrix
Updated 08/03/2017 | Published 08/02/2017 >
Question:
I have a 2006 Toyota Matrix XR. I am wanting to know which of the hitches available from you have the greatest ground clearance. I am willing to trim any amount of the rear valance or bumper cover to acheive the greatest ground clearance. I am leaning toward a Class II hitch. Any info or measurements would be greatly appreciated.

All of the hitches for the 2006 Toyota Matrix XR are going to have about the same ground clearance. The best one in my opinion though is the Draw Tite part # 24812 as it does not require a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack like the Curt hitch does.
Since this hitch requires total removal of the rear fascia on the XR models that means the hitch would sit up the highest of the ones available.
