Will Spare Fit With Trailer Hitch Receiver Installed on a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0t Ultimate

Updated 07/20/2017 | Published 07/19/2017

Question:

Im interested in a Item # C13152 or Item # 75772. I read a review on the C13152 that if you have the higher end model with the nice wheels that the spare tire wont go back on or doesnt fit and cant be remounted. Just wanted to confirm that wont be a problem. The wheels are 19 inch and its a 2017 Santa Fe Sport 2.0t ultimate. The description of the spare just says compact and doesnt state if its a 19

Both the Draw-Tite # 75772 and Curt # C13152 trailer hitch receivers for your 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport require the spare tire to be temporarily removed for installation. Once installed the hitches fit with the spare tire. If you look at the videos I've attached the spare tire is put back in place and that is the 2017 Sport 2.0t Ultimate like yours.

Between the two hitches I recommend the Curt because of the higher weight capacity.

If you're going to be towing with your Hyundai you also need a wiring harness. I recommend # HM11143965 if you have the factory tow package. If you don't use # C59236 instead.

You'll also need a ball mount and hitch ball. I've attached a link of our selection of ball mounts for a 2 inch hitch receiver as well as an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop you may need. Once you choose a ball mount you can then choose a hitch ball to fit it.

One way to make choosing a ball mount easier is to go with an adjustable ball mount like the B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS10038B. It features the ability to be flipped under the hitch when not using it and will provide up to 5-1/2 inches of rise or 5 inches of drop.

For a pin and clip to fit you can use # PC3 or if you'd like to have a locking pin you can use # BX8858.

I've also included links to some articles on towing that you might find helpful.
