Question:
I have a 2014 Ford Explorer Sport without a factory towing package. Have ed the Draw Tite 76034 hitch. Typically only pull a utility trailer with 4 prong but suspect I would go with system that gives me the most flexibility should I need a uhaul or other trailer. Recommendations?

On the 2014 Ford Explorer, the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118540, will allow you to install a 4 pole flat trailer connection. This harness will run the basic lighting functions on a trailer.
If you decide to tow a trailer that has electric brakes, then I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, # 90885, with the etrailer Universal Installation Kit for Brake Controllers, # ETBC7, for this vehicle.
The P2 brake controller will work great on your Explorer. The P2 Brake Controller is a proportional brake controller, so it applies brake power to your trailer in proportion to the brake pressure applied to your vehicle. The P2 will include a wiring pigtail that will connect the controller to 12volt power and the brake circuit back to the 7-way connector in the # ETBC7 kit.
The # ETBC7 kit will include a 7-way RV trailer connection and the wiring and hardware needed to install a brake controller in the cab of your Explorer.
I have attached videos of the products and help article on installing a brake controller and the # ETBC7 kit.
