Expert Reply:
A great hitch receiver for your 2006 GMC Yukon XL would be the Curt # C13422.
This is a Class V hitch with a 2" opening, a 1,000 lb tongue weight (TW) capacity and a 10,000 lb gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity when you are using a weight distribution system, and 600 lb tongue weight and 6,000 lb towing capacity without weight distribution.
Please keep in mind that this hitch will not fit models with EPA canister mounted on passenger side frame rail.
