What A frame brake actuator do I need for a light 2 horse trailer with electric brakes.

If your trailer uses electric drum brakes then you do not need a brake actuator-type a-frame coupler like # DM8609502. Instead you can use a standard a-frame coupler like # CA-5210-B since your brakes' power will come from the signal carried on the 7-way trailer wiring harness.

You will want to choose a coupler that matches or exceeds the trailer's GVWR, its gross vehicle weight rating. The coupler referenced above is rated for 8000-lb trailers but we have lots of similar a-frame couplers of various weight ratings shown on the linked page. You also want to choose a coupler that matches the size of your vehicle's hitch ball, such as 2-5/16-inch ball coupler # CA-5400-B which is rated for 14K.
