Is the Superwinch LT 2000 Weatherproof Against the Weather Elements

Question:

Are the small electric winches such as the Superwinch LT 2000 weatherproof? I am looking for a small power winch or hoist to attach to my davit to lower and raise a dinghy 71 lb. in and out of the water from a dock. Being outside, it has to be weatherproof. Thanks.

The Superwinch LT 2000 ATV Winch, # 1120210, is a quality winch that will give you 2,000 lbs of line pull. However, the unit is not waterproof.

The LT 2000 winch will have a weather resistant covers that will help protect from the elements, but over long term the unit could be impacted by the weather elements.

To prolong life, I recommend covering unit in a weather resistant cover to protection when not in use.
