Question:
I am considering this axle -Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs - EZ-Lube - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 89inch Long - 3,500 lbs Item # 35545I-EZ-89 - for my late 60s Chevy 8foot p.u. bed trailer. The c-clip fell of and left side axle slid out. Luckily I was able to corral it under my truck. Darn thing punched a hole in my rear bumper! Thankfully no one was hurt. I will measure when I get a chance, but can you tell if is a fit? Thanks

In order to determine if the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs # 35545I-EZ-89 is the correct length for your trailer, you will want to take a couple of measurements.
You will first measure from hub face to hub face on the existing axle. The second measurement will be from the spring center to spring center. I have included an image that labels these particular dimensions for you to check out. You will also need to determine the weight capacity you are needing for your trailer in order to ensure you will not be exceeding its limit.
The Dexter Trailer Axle mentioned above has a weight capacity of 3,500 pounds, a hub face measurement of 89 inches and a spring center measurement of 74 inches. I have attached a video demonstration on this axle as well as a link that will take you to our available selection that you can look through.
