Question:

I have a 17, Featherlite, open, automobile trailer with dual wheels. Where would I mount a spare tire carrier and which one would you recommend. Thanks.

You could mount a spare tire carrier on the frame of your trailer or along the inside of metal railing of your trailer.

I would recommend using a spare tire carrier that mounts to the frame of the trailer, like the item you selected, Fulton Hi-Mount Trailer Spare Tire Carrier, part # FSTC1000301. This spare tire carrier is compatible with 4 on 4 inch and 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt patterns. It will mount to trailer frames up to 3 inches by 4 inches.

You will need to measure your trailer frame and determine the bolt pattern of your trailer wheels to choose the correct trailer spare tire carrier.
