Question:

I am looking at the Kuat NV 2.0 or the Kuat NV 2.0 Base. Can you tell me the difference between the two models and whether or not I would be able to open the rear tailgate on my 2014 Prius V with either rack installed. Thank you in advance.

For your 2014 Prius V, the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" Hitches - Tilting - Aluminum - Metallic Black # NV12B or the Kuat NV 2.0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" Hitches - Tilting - Aluminum - Matte Black # BA12B will allow you to open the rear gate of your Prius. The tilting functions will give you a little additional space to let you load and unload cargo.

The difference between these two bike racks is that the Base model does not come with the repair stand which can be added ( # TDKB ) and is 3 lbs lighter. Other than those minor differences, the racks are almost identical. They both include the bike and hitch locks for security.
