We do have a couple of 2,000 pound leaf spring suspension axles available, such as the 60 Inch Dexter Trailer Axle Beam # T20BTR-6048 with standard spindles.
When replacing the axle on your 1988 StarCraft Nova Tent Trailer, you will need to measure the hub face to hub face dimension as well as the spring center to spring center distance. I have attached an image that shows these dimensions on this particular axle. The hub face (A) refers to the length of the axle measured form the base of one wheel stud to the base of the wheel stud on the opposite side (when hubs are mounted). The spring center (B) will be the approximate width of the trailer. It is measured from the center of the spring seat to the center of the spring seat.
If you cannot find a standard axle with the needed dimensions, another option is an axle-less system like the Timbren # ASR2KHDS01. This 2,000 pound capacity system will fit any frame width and the two independent units can eliminate the need for a thru axle. Compatible Idler Hub Assemblies can be added with # 84545UC1-EZ.
I have attached a video demonstration on this system so you can get a better idea as to how it works.
