Squeaking Noise with Reese Revolution and Reese Titan 16K on 2011 Silverado

Question:

I have a Reese revolution 10k revolution -vhd10k22sw manufactured 3-12 on a flagstaff 8528ikws towed with a 2011 short bed duramax silverado with a Reese titan 16 k hitch with the stock wedge installed. When I am turning or backing into a spot, there is the worst squeak and groan coming from the revolution. It is very loud and makes people look at us even. I do put grease on the wedge and the pin. Is there a reason it squeaks so bad. Should there be lubrication on the turning point pads?

For the Revolution Pin Box on your Trailer, Reese recommends that you frequently lubricate the wedge surfaces, back side of the king pin and the skid plate surface. The bearing surfaces of the Revolution arm can also be lubricated if they are stiff. You should not use a lube plate with this Pin Box.

You can also apply a light coating of all purpose grease like the LubriMatic White Lithium Grease # L11354 to the skid plate and jaw of your Reese Titan Hitch. This should go a long way to helping reduce the metal to metal squeaking you are experiencing.
