Question:
I am making a boat ramp. It will have 50 ft of ramp and a 3 ft lift up on to the shore. The bunkie the boat sits on is fitted with roller bearings. I have purchased a Superwinch Terra 45 . The 18 ft Boat weighs 2500 pounds. Is this winch heavy enough.

Helpful Expert Reply:
If your boat is on a dolly-like platform that is equipped with rollers its actual load that will be presented to the winch will be reduced as compared to use of standard non-wheeled bunks. For a 2500-lb boat the 4500-lb-rated Superwinch Terra Series ATV Winch # SW1145220 with 55-foot wire rope will be capable of handing this load.
