Question:
I have a 2006 Toyota Rav4. I need to replace the spare tire cover. The original hard cover was damage and I want to replace it with a soft cover because of cost. I have already tried a 28inch in another brand and it was too small. The spare tire size is 225/65/R17 but the tire actually recesses into the body of the 2006 Rav4 so it is very hard to get the cover on. It doesnt mount on the outside like the old Rav4s. So I was hoping maybe a little larger size would fit the 17inch tire I have on the Rav4. Would this be a good tire to try? Also what is your return policy if this doesnt fit?

I will be happy to help you choose a soft spare tire cover for your 2006 Toyota RAV4. The 225/65-17 tire will be about 28-1/2 inches in diameter so a 28 inch cover would be too small like you said. Bestop cover # B6102915 is designed for 29 inch tires but I have a better solution; a cover that has a larger range to ensure a better fit.
Take a look at cover # 052963753479. It is designed to fit 26-3/4 to 29-3/4 inch diameter tires. That extra 3/4 of an inch is going to give you more wiggle room to install the cover and have it fit properly.
For information on the returns policy I have linked it for you.
