Question:

Hi there We just purchased at the end of last year a 2004 28ft fifth wheel. Weight wise its about 9000lb . we have a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd, 5.7 hemi. We intend to add airpads to help with the suspension and have had conflicting answers in whether we need a automatic slide or can use one that we have to manually adjust . The box is 5.7inch i know we need one with a towing capacity of 15,000 minimun and a slider but getting confused about what rails, install kit and hitch would work for us. Any insight would be great. Thank you

We have one sliding hitch that would give you enough clearance once slid back and it is the # DM8550040 by Demco. This 13k hitch will automatically slide 22-1/2 inches back as you make tight turns. There is no other slider hitch that would have enough clearance since your 2016 Ram 1500 has a 5-1/2 foot bed.

For a custom fit rail kit you then would want the part # DM8552030-71.
