To flat tow your 2013 Ford F-150 Supercrew you will need a tow bar, base plate kit, safety cable set, tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and most likely a high-low adapter.

The Tow Bar that I recommend using is the Blue Ox Avail # BX7420 which is rated for 10,000 lbs and comes with safety cables. Since it uses telescoping arms it is much easier to hook up to your base plates over some other models.

I prefer the Blue Ox Base Plate kits that allow you to remove the arms as it gives your vehicle a cleaner look. If your XLT has EcoBoost then I recommend the Blue Ox # BO74FR. However if your XLT does not have EcoBoost you will want to use part # BX2606 instead.

For Tow Bar Wiring I recommend going with the Roadmaster Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This uses a coiled wire to help keep it from dragging the ground plus it has a 7-Way connector which will plug into the 7-Way on your RV. You will also need a Wiring Converter # 118158, 2 Additional Diodes # RM-792, and a Brake Light Relay # RM-88400 so that the lights will work properly for your F-150.

Since most states require a supplemental braking system I recommend going with the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400 because it is very easy to install, and it can be used in a wide variety of vehicles.

You might also need to use a high-low adapter for safe towing. I have included a link to our high-low adapters as well as a helpful article on how to choose a high-low adapter and flot towing.
