Question:
I want to use a D-210 for a bike rack and light duty trailer pulled by a Subaru Forester. Whats the highest ball rise I could use on this and still have clearance for the bike rack above trailer coupler in the closed position about 2-1/4inch above the ball? Thanks

The Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs # D210 does not have an adjustable rise, so a higher ball would be your only option for this product. The measurements, which I've attached will give you 5-13/16 inches between the top of the drawbar where the ball mounts to the bottom of the bike shank.
You will be able to fit a hi-rise ball like # C40033 on this because you will have a measurement of 3-3/8 inches above that draw bar. This will give you just enough clearance for the coupler that is 2-1/4 inches above the ball when closed. You'll have just over 1/4 inch to spare.
