While the Optronics Opti-Brite RV Interior Strip Light w/ Switch # ILL70CBSBAWN referenced in your question has a sealed, waterproof construction, it is designed primarily for interior use or as a porch light on a covered porch. It is not necessarily built to withstand heavy rain and harsh weather.
A porch light like the Optronics RV Rectangular Porch and Utility Light # RVPL1C, which is specifically designed to be an exterior light, might be a better option. This light features a molded plastic housing and durable lens that will provide all-weather protection.
I have attached a short video demonstration of this product as well as a link that will take you to our available selection of RV porch lights for you to look through.
