The Convert-A-Ball 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter, # CAB-C5G, would be a good option for some who has both a gooseneck and 5th wheel trailer. This adapter has a 20,000 lbs weight capacity. All the needed parts and materials will be included with the adapter. I have included an installation video show how the Convert-A-Ball adapter will install on to a 5th wheel trailer and how to hook-the trailer up to your gooseneck hitch.
This adapter will connect to almost any 5th wheel pin box. However, the Sidewinder pin box or any air cushioned pin boxes are not compatible with the Convert-A-Ball adapter. Also, this adapter is not recommended for use with Reese Elite Series gooseneck trailer hitches. It is also not recommended for use with factory-installed towing prep packages from Ford, GM, Dodge, or Nissan.
Before you install a 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter, like the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G, there are few things to keep in mind. Using a this type of adapter can cause added stress to your 5th wheel trailer's frame. It is always recommended checking with your trailer's manufacturer to see if using a 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter is allowed for your trailer. Also, because its design, these types of adapters can cause rough ride when towing a trailer.
