Question:

Hi, Im also considering a Honda Civic Hatchback - but not the Sport model so this car does NOT have a center exhaust - will a hitch work? If so what kind? Im not well versed with this and taking my bike with me on trips is important to the car I choose. So far Ive not seen any that say they will fit this vehicle. Help - Roof wont be an option - Im too short and its too hard to lift above. Thanks

As long as the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback doesn't have a center exhaust, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11463 or the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C92UR are confirmed to fit. The Curt hitch requires a stabilizer strap # 18050 for a bike rack, but the Draw-Tite hitch receiver does not.

For a bike rack compatible with this hitch, I recommend the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # S64683. This will hold your bikes by the wheels and the frame, securing them with a ratcheting hook with integrated lock. This carrier also has a hitch lock to secure the bike rack to your hitch receiver with aa threaded anti-rattle locking pin.
