Quieter Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Trailer w Unloaded Tongue Weight of 490 lbs

Question:

Which weight distribution hitch is best for 2017 Yukon Denali pulling a Nash 24M? Trailer is 7000 GVWR, dry weight 5465 axle 4975 / hitch 490 according to the brochure specs. I prefer quietest. Is Reese Steadi-flex quieter than others?

The two louder systems are the two that work the best strangely. The Equalizer systems groan pretty loudly from the friction and the Straitline systems makes loud popping noises as the cams move around during corners.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

If your unloaded tongue weight is right at 490 lbs your loaded weight is going to be a bit higher so the best Steadi-Flex system is going to be the part # RP66559 which has a tongue weight range of 500-1,000 lbs. All WD systems make a little bit of noise, but this one will not be too loud.
