Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancer # TGMRCK25 Recommendation for a 1996 Chevy C/K Truck

Published 02/15/2011

Question:

Im exploring different solutions to my situation. I have a 1996 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy extended cab short bed 6 foot which I use for my electrical contracting business. It is well loaded down with a steel ladder rack, tool boxes and material. Ive considered add a leaf, air bags, load stabilizers and now your product. First question would be how does your product stack up to me adding a leaf to my existing suspension? If I buy your product Ill have to jack the bed up to install them since the truck is already squatted and the ladder rack and tool boxes are not coming off. Will this be a problem? I realize that what should really happen is the purchase of a 3/4 ton truck. Just trying to take care of my ride as best I can until the former can be afforded. I appreciate your help.

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, part # TGMRCK25, is much easier to install than air springs, no air hoses need to be run, no compressors or gauges to hook up.

This kit will also not affect your unloaded ride quality as much as adding a leaf to your suspension would. The # TGMRCK25, would only be used when you were hauling enough weight to use a significant portion of your suspension, otherwise the ride of your vehicle would be completely unaffected. That would be the main difference that you would notice between running this kit versus adding a leaf.

To install this it looks like you would need raise your vehicle enough to where the wheels come off of the ground. Remove the existing bump stop assembly, assemble the aeon rubber spring and bracket, mount the Timbren assembly using existing holes and Timbren supplied fasteners. From there you will lower your vehicle and you will be ready to go.

I attached a link to installation instructions below for you to check out also.
