Recommended 2-Bike Hitch-Mounted Platform Rack for 2017 Toyota Prius Prime

Question:
We just got a Prius Prime and have a hitch. What might you recommend for a bike rack for it? Would prefer platform for two bikes. Thank you

It looks like the trailer hitch for your 2017 Toyota Prius Prime is most likely a Class I hitch with a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. When choosing the best bike rack for your vehicle and bikes, we just need to make sure that it will be compatible with Class I hitches.
I recommend looking at the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack # S64683. This is a great platform-style rack that can carry 2 bikes of up to 45 pounds each and is Class I compatible. The sliding wheel cradles with ratcheting straps can adjust easily to accommodate bikes of different lengths. My favorite feature of this rack is its ability to tilt away from your vehicle with the bikes still loaded for easy rear cargo access. The system also includes locks to secure both the bikes to the carrier and the carrier to the trailer hitch. The Chinook can handle wheel diameters between 20 and 29 inches and tire widths of up to 3 inches. This rack will work great with your new Prius Prime.
