Question:
Hello, I currently have a 2011 chevy 2500HD with a B and W turnover Gooseneck and a companion slider in the shortbed. Im getting ready to buy a 2017 3500HD Single rear wheel 6.5 bed and would like to use the same companion slider in that bed and have the dealer install a BandW turnover gooseneck. What part do I need and is this slider still compatible? Dont want to have to buy a new 5th wheel hitch if I dont have too. I know they install Curts systems in the factory and Im going to opt not to have that installed. What is your recommendation here?

Expert Reply:
The B&W gooseneck hitch kit that fits your new 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 with 6-1/2-foot bed and without the factory rail kit is part # BWGNRK1016. Installation of this item is shown in the linked video. For an in-bed wiring harness you can use part # C56000 which will plug in at the bumper-mounted factory 7-way, no cutting or splicing needed.
When you need to 5th wheel tow just drop in your Companion slider 5th wheel hitch # BWRVK3400 and you are good to go.
