The brake controller I recommend for your 2017 Sorento is the P3, part # 90195. This is one of our most popular because it is easy to set up and operate. Since there is no plug-in adapter available for your Sorento you will have to do some additional wiring.
You will need to first install a 4-way trailer harness like part # C56332. This plugs into the tow package wiring harness that is along the frame wheel near the rear of your Sorento. I have attached a link to an installation video for this harness you can check out.
Next you will need part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way connector and you will then need to do some additional hard-wiring.
I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run for the # ETBC7 and the # 90195.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
