Question:
Does the high output pusher fan 16925 have to be in direct contact with the radiator. I do not want to use the through the core plastic mounting straps so I have some fan mounting brackets that place the fans about 1/2 off the face of the radiator. Will this be ok? By the Im using two 16925 pushers on a 31x19 radiator in a 82 Procharged Monte Carlo.

For the best performance, a radiator fan like Derale 12 Inch High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan, # D16925, should be mounted directly against the radiator. If there is a gap, less airflow will go through the radiator and it will not be as efficient. If you do not want to use the included mounting straps, I would find another way to mount it directly against the radiator for ideal performance. I have included a link to our FAQ article on electric fans for reference.
