Purpose of Blue Disc that Comes with Firestone Coil Rite System

Question:
Ive been running this product in my 1994 Landcruiser for 8-9 years. Im on my second set and one of those bags is now leaking. On the first set, a tear developed in the area right around the nipple coming out of the bag. I know instructions said to mount nipple down, but 4-Wheel Parts that did the first install of these bags mounted them up and ran the hose through an enlarged hole from the bump stop. The did a great job of deburring that hole and it doesnt look like the leak came from any rubbing on that hole, but rather the flexing of the nipple. Running the hose down looks like it makes routing of the air line next to impossible without it pinching. I noticed that the Firestone version of these type of bags thatll fit my Landcruiser come with a large plastic disc that looks like it would protectfoot the nipple protruding from the bag. Is that the purpose of that disc? I certainly dont mind the $100 every 4 or so years and install with a fully unweighted coil isnt a problem at all. Just wondering if that disc does what I think it does and if its worth the addl cost?

The blue disc of the # F4124 is designed to align the valve stem and protect it and the bag from excessive heat.
In general we do seem to have better luck with Firestone air bag components lasting longer than Air Ride. You have to be sure to keep at least 5 psi in the bags at all times too.
