Question:
Is there a way to replace the entire mounting piece on a Thule Universal Pull Top Ski Rack? I have a model thats a couple of years old now and the plastic screws are stuck/stripped and the bolts are rusted. The actual rack though is fine. I was wondering if theres a way to take the mounting bit completely off and replace it with new feet?

For your ski rack similar to the Thule Pull Top Slide-Out Ski and Snowboard Carrier - 6 Skis or 4 Boards, the Universal Mounting Kit # 7533998 will work with your carrier and fit most crossbars including factory crossbars. Though they do not have lock cores, they do use a special installation tool that is required to install the tamperproof screws ( # 853-5269) that come with the mounts. These tamperproof screws prohibit the feet from being uninstalled without the correct tool.
