I would rather not get a hitch type. What would you recommend for a Honda CR-V 2016

Since you don't want to go with a hitch mounted bike rack the easiest to use is a trunk mount. The Saris Bones # SA801BL is confirmed to fit on your 2016 Honda CR-V. It will carry up to 3 bikes at 35 pounds each and features adjustable arms and anti-sway straps. The Hatch Huggers, part # SA3035, are recommended.

Another option that is always great for any vehicle with a hatchback is the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top # HRF2-3. It also carries 3 bikes up to 35 pounds. It also has anti-sway using cradles and will fold down when not in use.

Both of these carries may need a bike frame adapter bar to carry a women's or children's bikes. The Kuat Ubar # UB01 creates the horizontal cross tube a traditional men's bike has so they will hang level while transporting.

For one final option, that won't require the adapter bar, take a look at the SeaSucker Hornet # 298-BH1302. This carries one bike but has very little contact with your Honda and will fit any vehicle. It uses suction cups to install on the car and secures the bike by the handlebars.
