Amp Draw of MaxxFan Deluxe RV Fan

Question:

How much power does this fan require? How many amps?

While running the MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe # MA00-06401K requires about 4-1/2 amps. For startup it will pull around 9 amps.

Using a car battery, if you ran the max aire fan all night, would it drain the battery to a dangerously low level. Van camping.

I would be surprised if it didn't considering you can leave the mirror down on the visor and that little light can sometimes drain a battery.

@JonG thanks for the response.. thinking of getting a DC power generator(solar) to run the max aire as opposed to a direct battery hook up. Can the maxx aire be wired with a DC/cigarette lighter type plug in... that way I can run it from the generator or the cigarette socket in the sprinter...I am avoiding an auxiliary battery and inverter set up. Trying to do a modular build.

@George You could potentially do this with something like the Accessory Plug and Socket Kit # PE53QV. The plug is rated for 15 amps which is well over what the roof vent requires.
