When gluing a new spigot or bayonet fitting use ABS glue. There should be plenty of surface area on the hose for the glue to work. You may have to bunch up the hose some if it doesn't have a what is essentially a collar at the end of the hose. If you have to do that then be sure to secure the bunched up hose after the glue has been applied and inserted in the connector so that it doesn't try to unfurl.
