For your 1977 Ford F-100, the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 41504 will fit with your roll pan bumper.
If you need trailer wiring, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55301. This is a quick connect to your factory wiring located behind your bumper.
For a ball mount, I recommend B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. This will give you two hitch ball options and is adjustable for towing a trailer level. This also will allow you to stow the ball behind the shank for a clean look and will protect your shins.
