Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

etrailer.com Technical Support

Easy install! Used it on 3 cross country trips pulling a 19ft Camper.

Good quality and very helpful phone sales support got me to the correct hitch model. The three piece bolted design was easy to install. All high quality fasteners were included. Well packed and shipped fast. The low drop design clears the low rear bumper on our 1965 F-100 Short Box Flare Side Pick up restoration project as promised.

Sorry can't give a review yet still haven't installed the hitch hopefully this spring.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for Deep Drop Bumper and Ball Mount for 1996 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Diesel
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13038 is not a fit for your 1996 Ford F-250. For a similar fit, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41504 which is rated for 5,000 lbs without weight distribution or 10,000 lbs with weight distribution. For your 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, I recommend the Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C45900 which is adjustable so you can tow level with the 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball.

For your 1977 Ford F-100, the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 41504 will fit with your roll pan bumper. If you need trailer wiring, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55301. This is a quick connect to your factory wiring located behind your bumper. For a ball mount, I recommend B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10037B. • Trailer Hitch Needed for a 1997 Ford F-350 Heavy Duty with a Deep Drop Bumper
The Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15511 that you referenced is a great option for the deep drop bumper on your 1997 Ford F-350 Heavy Duty. The Draw-Tite # 41504 is a little more cost-effective but it also requires the use of the adapter kit # 01685 and it doesn't have as high of a weight rating. We do have a selection of camper tie-downs that you can install on your F-350. If you let me know what the size of your truck bed is and if you have a board or step I can make a recommendation...

A deep drop bumper is a bumper that hangs further below the frame than a standard bumper. Check out the photo that I attached showing a deep drop bumper compared to a standard bumper and a step bumper. We have three frame mount trailer hitches that will work with a deep drop bumper on your 1987 Chevrolet C/K 1500. You could install the Curt Hitch, # C13099 or the Draw-Tite Hitch, # 41504. These are all Class III trailer hitches that have a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs and a tongue weight...

  • How to Measure for Trailer Hitch Clearance on a 1963 Ford F-100 With a Rear Barden Bumper
When mounted, the top of the receiver of the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch, # 41001, will sit 5-1/2 inches below the frame rail. So you can simply measure 5-1/2 inches from the bottom of your frame rail to see if the receiver will clear your Barden Bumper. If you do not have enough clearance for the # 41001 hitch, then you may want to take a look at the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 41504.
