Hi, Im considering putting a hitch and wiring on my 2017 Honda Civic lx hatchback. Rewiring: Do all trailer lighting kits require a 12v power feed? Directly to the battery? Trailer has Led lights btw. Your recommendations ? Thanks.

The Curt trailer hitch that is confirmed to fit your 2017 Civic is part # C11463. This is a Class l hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. A note from Curt states: All non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt.
All of the trailer wiring harnesses we offer for your Civic have powered modules included. These protect the wiring circuit on the vehicle from shorts and wiring issues. The harness I recommend is part # C59496. This kit includes a circuit tester that will help identify which wire carries which circuit when installing the harness.
