Troubleshooting Excess Slack In Demco Hijacker Autoslide Fifth Wheel Hitch Head

Question:
I have the # 8550038 installed in my Ford F-250. I have some slack in the hitch that I notice when I come to a complete stop and then take off again. I have noticed a bolt and nut in the front of the hitched and I wondered if this was the adjustment for this.

I called my contact at Demco and asked about the slack you said you have with the # DM8550038 on your 2016 F-250.
On the forward side of the hitch(closest to the cab) there is a bolt you can make a bit of adjustment with to tighten the head up. My contact said you would need to loosen the jamb nut first and then turn the bolt 1/8 of a turn at a time, then tighten the jamb nut and see if that eliminates the problem. That should take care of any of the slack you said the hitch has.
If you cannot get the issue to go away let me know and we can do some further troubleshooting.
