If you already have a wiring harness installed from the factory on your Dodge, then you will not need to upgrade your trailer wiring. Your Dodge's wiring will handle the LED lights on your trailer.
If you need a trailer connection, then all you will need is the Curt T-Connecter Wiring Harness, # C55504. The harness uses existing wring plugs on your vehicle's harness. No cutting or splicing of wires is necessary.
LED lights actually draw less power than traditional incandescent bulbs. The only issues that we have seen with LED is in the newer model vehicles that have trailer diagnostics installed with the tow package Using LED light sometimes will through a code tell the truck's computer that you have trailer lights out or something is not connected correctly.
