The cargo basket I recommend for your 2003 Volvo xc90 is the Thule Canyon XT # TH859XT. This basket fits your OEM crossbars on your vehicle as long as the crossbars do not exceed 3-1/8" wide x 1" tall. Also, you need to make sure that your crossbar spread can be adjusted between 20" - 37". I recommend measuring your crossbar setup to make sure that your roof rack fits within these parameters. To add security to the basket, I recommend using the one-key locks # TH450400.
For load straps to secure your cargo, I suggest using the # TH523.
For easy accessibility, I recommend a step like the # RL100660.
