Curt # C11399 trailer hitch for the 2016 Audi A3 is a great choice. It is a class I hitch which has a 1-1/4" receiver. It is a confirmed fit for your Audi A3.
The Curt hitch also requires the use of stabilization strap # 18050 if using the hitch with anything other than a trailer such as a bike rack or cargo carrier per Curt's warranty requirements.
